Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira said he is not fazed by having to fight for his place in the starting line-up.
The German international has to compete with players such as Xabi Alonso, Nuri Sahin and Lassana Diarra for a starting berth, but Khedira is confident he will get playing time as long as he performs on the field.
"There is always competition for places at a club like Real Madrid, regardless of the position you play in," Khedira told Spox.
"The only thing you can do is show what you're worth on the pitch and that's what I've been doing so far."
"There are four or five excellent players available for the position of holding midfielder here. It was already like that when I came here last year and I don't think it will change any time soon."
"We all realise that we have to work hard to win a starting berth. It's important to make optimum use of your own qualities."
The 24-year-old has made over 50 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions since joining from Stuttgart in 2010.
