World Cup final referee Howard Webb believes goal-line technology can make football better, if the pace of games remains the same.
FIFA are testing different technologies with the English Premier League potentially using the system by the start of the 2012/13 season.
But there are concerns implementing goal-line technology would slow the game down with officials forced to go to replays to check decisions.
Webb, who took charge of Spain's 1-0 World Cup final win over the Netherlands in July last year, said technology could add credibility to the game.
"People love the game all around the world. They love it for what it is, the way it's played, the tempo and the pace that it has," the Premier League referee said.
"I think we need to be careful to always protect that, but there are times when it would be nice to make my job a little bit easier and make me more credible. Anything that does that has to be worth a look."
"I think we are going to look at some goal-line technology at some point in the foreseeable future."
"It's one that we want to get right and if we can get a system that is totally accurate, reliable and immediate, that is something that would add value to the game as a whole."
