Corinthians director of football Edu believes a move to Europe would help highly-rated Santos forward Neymar's development.
The 19-year-old scored 13 goals in the Brazilian Serie A this campaign, and has been the subject of reported interest from the likes of Real Madrid, Manchester United and AC Milan.
Former Arsenal and Valencia midfielder Edu said while Neymar added plenty to the Brazilian league, he would become a better player with a move to Europe.
"For his experience, to go to Europe, to play for a big club and to play Champions League, to play in a good league, maybe Neymar would grow up more than he would here (Brazil)," Edu said.
"That is my idea, I'm sure he has his own ideas and I hope he is right."
Meanwhile, Corinthians president Andres Sanchez is still interested in bringing Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez back to the club.
The unsettled Argentine is rumoured to be leaving Etihad Stadium in January, with Serie A champions AC Milan interested in signing him on loan.
Sanchez, who had an offer for Tevez turned down in July, said he was confident the 27-year-old would have no troubles if he joined Corinthians, the club he played for in 2005 and half of 2006.
"At Corinthians he never had problems. They pulled him out of Corinthians. So, I don't have any problem with it," Sanchez said.
"And I don't speak a lot with him. But it's different in Corinthians, everything is different, he knows the club and if he leaves Europe he'll come to Corinthians."
