Beckham:Man City Cannot win EPL title

Tuesday, November 29, 2011 7:42 AM

Former Manchester United star David Beckham believes Manchester City have no chance of winning the Premier League this season.

City have made an impressive start to the 2011/12 campaign and are already five points clear of their cross-town rivals after only 13 games.

But 36-year-old Beckham, who won six EPL titles, two FA Cups and a Champions League trophy during his time at Old Trafford, said that despite their vast resources and good team, City would not win the league.

"I don't think Manchester City have a chance," Beckham told reporters in Asia, where he is on tour with current club LA Galaxy.

"This season they have got a good team and some good players, but Manchester United have more experience and know how to win a championship."

City have been dominant so far this season in the league, taking in an astonishing 6-1 victory over their city rivals, but face being knocked out of the Champions League unless results go their way in the next match against Bayern Munich.

Beckham, who will be out of contract after the Asian tour, has been linked with a host of European clubs including AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain among others.

He insists that he needs to be fit and playing to reach the goal of being selected for a "very special" spot on the Great Britain team at the 2012 Olympics in London.

He remained coy about his options for next season, however, saying only that he has, "a big decision to make".
